As part of my ongoing site update and maintenance for the Blog Improvement Project, I decided to try a commenting system other than Blogger's. Because what do I like most about book blogs? The discussion! And discussion can be a little hard to keep track of if the comments aren't threaded. So, I officially linked Disqus' commenting system to this blog for a test drive. It accepts fun things like OpenID and gravatars and even your Twitter account. Sorry you can't sign in with your Google account anymore...but comment threads may just win out over that one.
Now I want to test it out! So I ask this of you: make a comment!
It can be anything! What are you watching/listening to/reading right now? Do you like cheeseburgers (because that's what I just had for dinner)? Do you think any chick-flick is better than When Harry Met Sally (because I was just watching that on TV)? Give that REPLY button a whirl as well.
Many thanks!

One of the main issues when I tried a thing like this is people who didn't want to leave their e-mail. Do you know if that's an option to not make them? B/c if so maybe I'll switch to this one too!
Hmm, I get that. That's a good point. But I've repled to other Disqus comment threads as a Guest and my email is never displayed. I wonder if there's a way to note that in the Email box, saying something like "(will not be displayed)".
i wanted to know if i'd look good as a blonde, so i went to a sheitel macher (jewish wig maker) yesterday to try some on for size. good thing i tried it before i dyed it: i am NOT blonde material. :) there's my profound comment of the day.
Hi, Kari. :) I just started the book you gave me, Totally Killer. I'm in the middle of the sixth chapter. Also, I haven't slept because I'd read a really good book before that.
Also, I have never had a Big Mac, much less had one for myself.
Hope you're doing well.
I prefer my cheeseburgers to be made with ground chicken. And I'm currently reading Edward Rutherfurd's New York...how appropriate.
I like cheese burgers! I've never heard of click - flick! Not sure what else to say, but I do like this Disqus system.
OOh are you liking it? It's sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. That requires a big time commitment...
I actually prefer burgers without cheese. My favorite topping is avocado!!
I've never eaten a Big Mac either. I thought I was the only one in the world...
I don't like cheese burgers - I do like fried chicken. I live in Harlem (appropriate) and I am currently reading an ARC of One Day by David Nichols. Love this blog, by the way!!
If you're on the East side, I'm close to you! And thanks!
I think that Jenners at Find Your Next Book Here uses disqus...some other people, too.
No Big Macs for me either. Something about them was always... well, it never made me think of hunger.
As for the comment system, I really like it a lot! I may have to try something similar since few of the wordpress themes are able to do threaded conversations. :(
I am reading several things including The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
I love any and all cheeseburgers. Hey, it's meat and cheese, where can you go wrong?
As for click-flicks, I am going to assume you meant chick-flicks because I know what that means, and I would have to save my favorite is The Princess Bride. Which I have now successfully managed to get my daughter addicted to. Heaven help my husband!
Ha, I didn't even catch that I typed "click-flick" instead of "chick-flick." When Jackie said she didn't know what that was, I was thinking, "Don't they use the phrase 'chick-flick' in the UK???" I'm glad your comment finally made me notice my typo.
Meat and cheese...I'm with ya.
What's the difference between a porcupine and a Porsche? On a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside. Bliiiinggg!
